NÛN High School
At NÛN High School, we offer a bilingual education in Turkish and English. Therefore, prospective students should demonstrate proficiency at the B2 level (CEFR) in both languages.
9th Grade Admissions
Besides teaching the Turkish national curriculum, grade 9 is a preparatory year for the IB Diploma Programme. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology are taught in English, while all other subjects are taught in Turkish.
- Students must demonstrate proficiency in at least one of the languages of instruction (English or Turkish) to be considered for admission.
- Students who are eligible in Turkish OR English are involved in the NÛN High School admission process. Accordingly;
- Students will take the NÛN High School Entrance Exam. The exam is applied in the proficient language (Turkish or English) of the student.
- Successful candidates will proceed to interviews. The interviews include student-guidance unit and parent-teacher interviews.
- Following successful interviews with positive results, students will be eligible to register for the NÛN High School Preparatory Class (in either Turkish or English).
10th Grade Admissions
Grade 10 is the first year of the IB Diploma Programme, in which all students participate. IB DP courses are taught in English, and other courses are taught in Turkish.
- Students must demonstrate proficiency in at least one of the languages of instruction (English or Turkish) to be considered for admission.
- International students proficient in English without Turkish proficiency (without e-okul registration) may apply for the admission process, providing that they submit an equivalency. International students transferring from other schools in Türkiye (with e-okul registration) are directly involved in the process. Accordingly;
- Students will take the NÛN High School Entrance Exam. The exam is applied in English.
- Successful candidates will proceed to interviews. The interviews include student-guidance unit and parent-teacher interviews.
- Following successful interviews with positive results, students will be eligible to register for the NÛN High School Preparatory Class (Adaptation Class for Turkish language acquisition).
- Upon successful completion of the Preparatory Class:
- Students without e-okul registration may begin in either 9th or 10th grade, based on individual preference and needs.
- Students with e-okul registration will continue to 10th grade.
Students proficient in English AND Turkish are involved in the admission process. Accordingly;
- Students will take the NÛN High School Entrance Exam. The exam is applied in Turkish.
- Successful candidates will proceed to interviews. The interviews include student-guidance unit and parent-teacher interviews.
- Following successful interviews with positive results, students will be eligible to register for the NÛN High School Grade 10.
11th Grade Admissions
Grade 11 is the second year of the IB Diploma Programme for students who successfully completed the first year of the IB Diploma Programme and prefer to continue. IB DP courses are taught in English, and other courses are taught in Turkish. Students who do not wish to continue with the IB Programme will begin preparing for the Turkish Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS). All courses are taught in Turkish within this program.
- Students must demonstrate proficiency in at least one of the languages of instruction (English or Turkish) to be considered for admission.
- Students transferring from other schools in Türkiye (with e-okul registration), who are proficient in English without Turkish proficiency are not eligible for admission.
- International students who are proficient in English without Turkish proficiency (and without e-okul registration) may be considered for admission, provided that they can provide an equivalency for the Turkish National Curriculum. Accordingly;
- Students will take the NÛN High School Entrance Exam. The exam is applied in English.
- Successful candidates will proceed to interviews. The interviews include student-guidance unit and parent-teacher interviews.
- Following successful interviews with positive results, students will be eligible to register for the NÛN High School Preparatory Class (Adaptation Class for Turkish language acquisition).
- Upon successful completion of the Preparatory Class, students will begin preparations for the Turkish Higher Education Institutions Exam, YKS throughout the Grade 11.
- Students proficient in English AND Turkish are involved in the admission process. Accordingly;
- Students will take the NÛN High School Entrance Exam. The exam is applied in Turkish.
- Successful candidates will proceed to interviews. The interviews include student-guidance unit and parent-teacher interviews.
- Following successful interviews, students will be eligible to register for the NÛN High School Grade 11 and participate in the Turkish Higher Education Institutions Exam, YKS preparation program.
Admissions for the Grade 12 Level
Throughout the 12th grade, students are prepared for the Turkish Higher Education Institutions Exam, YKS. All courses are taught in Turkish within this program.
- Students who are not proficient in Turkish are not considered for admission, as the Turkish Higher Education Institutions Exam, YKS is conducted in Turkish.
- Students proficient in Turkish are involved in the admission process. Accordingly;
- Students will take the NÛN High School Entrance Exam. The exam is applied in Turkish.
- Successful candidates will proceed to interviews. The interviews include student-guidance unit and parent-teacher interviews.
- Following successful interviews, students will be eligible to register for the NÛN High School Grade 12 and participate in the Turkish Higher Education Institutions Exam, YKS preparation program.
